So I finally took the plunge and ordered the 1330 for my sister who is going off to college in the Fall. It was a little more than what I had budgeted for but I think I got a good enough price. What do you think of this config and price. 1 month ship date estimate seems normal for this model. Thanks!

Mine is almost the same as yours except that I have only 3 year next day warranty and 8400GS video card. Mine is $1480 plus tax. I received it last Thursday.

    Almost 2K?

I could have gotten a 30" Dell LCD monitor and a nice Dimension 9200 with it.

Oh well not my money. ;-)

I would've suggested you stick to the 1GB RAM and upgrade it yourself...would've saved ~$100 or so.

Wow .. Thats heck of a deal! Was this through a particular School? If you don't mind sharing - how did you get the price so low. Did you get CC in your price? I was given a total price and then the Rep took $120 off + Next Day shipping when I negotiated - No coupons or anything.

I hear ya! I got my 1520 fully loaded for $1380! But she doesnt want to lug around a 8lb notebook in NYC so we went with the lightest one Dell had. I guess thats the premium you pay - still $600 cheaper than a similar Sony Vaio!

Thanks! She already does and is excited to get it in the next month.

Thought of that but I will not be home when the computer is delivered so there was no one to install the ram. With the bundle though - the savings would have been $40 going through newegg so its not that bad a price to get it preinstalled.
