The build should last me a good 3 years I am guessing.

One thing I am actively searching for is a back-pack for the notebook. I don't really like Dell's designs to much. I was thinking of ordering one from Alienware. Any suggestions on a nice looking back-pack to keep my baby?

Isnt your system the same as mine (except the extra, shorter warranty, slower HDD, and lower Wi-Fi card) that I got for $1377?

Didnt you get any coupons? Surely there is a $300-off coupon somewhere right now.

I dont mean to brag about my deal, but Im really shocked your price was that high. Are you in a country other than the US?

Edit: Oh! You got MS Office 2007. Nevermind! Good deal :)

Hehehe I am in Canada! We don't seem to get the $300 dollar off coupons. I had a $100 one however he said it had expired.

I have been holding off for a month waiting to see if we would get any better discounts but they don't seem to hook the Canadians up.

As far as the wireless goes, what are the benefits to the upgrade?

Not many benefits to Wireless-N at this point.

Some hotels, cafes etc are using them. But as others have pointed out, even if your wireless is superfast, you can still be limited by a slower net connection.

If you have your own network in your house, and you transfer files wirelessly from one station to another, the benefits to wireless-N would be amazing.

But if all you are doing is connecting to a wireless hub that is connected to DSL or cable, you arent going to see much, if any, benefit.

I just got it for the heck of it. I probably dont need it.

Crap! Wheres the $300 off coupon? If I called dell now, do you guys think they could take off 300? If not, I guess I would cancel my order and then re-order. Link anybody? I am very strapped for cash. :(

The coupon is good on dell 1520's priced over $1299

You'd have to upgrade your system a little, then apply the coupon.

There is a "Dell Coupons" button at the top of this forum.

But if you want to code directly, it is:

Thanks man. I used PayPal to pay for my order. The moment the order was placed, my debit card was debited. Now there is no charge, and my account is back where it was before the charge. I know Dell is going to charge my PayPal account again, but if I cancel my order tonight, do you think the charge will go through. I need to avoid overdraft fees.
