I ordered a high-end spec XPS M1330 on 26 September 2008 and I'm still waiting. My original delivery date was 10 October, then it got changed to 21 October, now it's 13 November. According to their website info - my PC has been in production since 1 October. I have called and left messages for my customer service manager and used their customer service email system several times. I have had no return call, no clear explanation - apart from "high demand".
My PC is critical for me - and I must have something to use by the end of next week. You would think that the intelligent thing for them to do would be to actually explain what component is causing the hold-up and offer you some alternatives. No - you get the standard script and a promise to contact you immediately if there are any delays. Of course that has not happened. Then they have debited my credit card account - just under a month ago - and still no confirmation of delivery. I have just sent them a polite but strongly worded email and am waiting for the response.
So far none of my tactics have worked. Does anyone have any tips as to how to actually get some satisfaction from them?
The really sad thing is that to date I have been a loyal Dell customer for many years, but this latest episode is making me think - is it really worth it?? I could get something from another manufacturer in a few days. Is the M1330 really worth the wait, or should I just cut my losses, ask for a refund and go elsewhere?
If I did cut my losses does anyone have any thoughts on what I could get that's in the same class (but not a Mac)?

Maybe dell outlet would have been better? Still not an excuse I would go on the phone and kick their ***.
They're gonna refresh them next week and they're out of date with technology now so I would cancel and wait for XPS 13
Ordered an XPS M1330 6 weeks ago and still waiting........
