That's a pretty good deal given the 3/4 yr at home service - I just got my E1705 for around the same price with 60gb hd, the 7900 gpu and 9 cell with a 2yr and windoze mce

It says shipping date is July 11th which is not a problem for me because I need it for college and I don't start until late August. I can play around with it for a month and fix it up.

The 30% is all over ebay(although a forum member here WeelyTM helped me out). The 10% I got from someone at notebook forums which was stackable. The 30% hasn't expired yet, and the 10% expired yesterday so I had to pull the trigger. The 12% comes through the Dell University site if you get a warranty 3 years or higher. It comes automatically so I didn't need a code.

It took a while to get the right deal, just had to be patient.

I would have gotten the SXGA+ screen, you have soooo much more screen real estate, but aside from that, you got yourself a VERY nice deal

That's a hell of a deal, with a lot of discounts. And, just so you get your hopes up :))), my Dell got to my door in just five days... so you definitely won't be waiting till the 11th for it to get to you.

How'd you get the 30% discount to kick in? I've tried entering it on dell's site and it doesn't work (with the 12% university discount).

Falcon X: I just put the 30% code in first and it just worked. Make sure you are using the 30% EPP code.

well. there is, but it costs 100 more. with that amount of money... if i were buying it from the states... i'd be getting a more poweful machine. i just don't think it's fair.

you think it's good to upgrade the screen?

That could be my problem. I'm using the 30% home code. Where can I find the 30% EPP code?

Well if you're not too concerned with sharper images and high resolution (good eye sight needed to spend those extra 100 bucks :) ), you can leave it easily.

Otherwise, you should seriously consider getting high resolution one, as Notebookreview's 6400 review inkles that average screens are very much sub standard ones.
