So I've been trying to squeeze every ounce of saving out of this deal being that I'm a college student on a tight budget but I wanted this M1330 really badly (since I got the catalog in the mail last October!)

Anyway, I got mine for only $1018.65 and after sales tax it was $1082.78. I think that's pretty good.

The service rep that I talked to on the phone helped eliminate some things that I didn't need in order to get a good price. He was sort of flirting with me and joking and I tried to get him to throw in a free mouse for me but he couldn't do it because he said Dell was making no money from this sale because of my student discount, the dell promotion and my 10% coupon. I think he'd have given it to me. I started off with the 'Better' option and then I reduced the processor to the T5550? and got rid of the bluetooth option because I know I'd never use it.

Here's some basics: 2GB, 128 NVIDIA card, 160 HD, fingerprint reader, McAffee Security, Tuxedo Black color

This is my first laptop buying experience. What do you think? Did I do good?

    This is the processor:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.83GHz/667Mhz FSB, 2M L2 Cache)

And really is a nice price considering the starting price was $1199

NICE! I hope you like it.

I ordered my m1330 last week, and apparently it shipped today.

I also bought it for university, but apparently Dell doesn't have a student discount for Canadians, so I paid $2100 for mine :-(.....but that did include 3 year warranty, lots of upgrades, both 6 and 9 cell batteries, bluetooth mouse and stereo headset....but still, much more expensive than on the American site.

Sucks how Canadians always get screwed like that. But I hope you like it. I'm glad to join the XPS M1330 family.

    What color is yours?

Definitely sucks! I was VERY tempted to have a friend of mine in the states buy one for me and ship it...

But anyway, mine is black and I can't wait until I get it. If I don't have any of the problems some people get, then I think i'm going to be very happy with it!

I thought about getting an Inspiron 1420. It was my second choice.

    Which Inspiron did you get?
