I ordered the XPS 1530 with 1.5 Ghz intel core 2 duo processor with 2 GB's of ram. Also has 160 gb 5400 rpm hard drive. Includes the 128 Nvidia geforce 8400M. Price was $745 less 20% = $596

My wife will be using this laptop so she will be using it exclusively for e-mail and small things. I got it because of the price being low. Could not even get a decent 1520 for that price.

My question is on the invoice it says the screen is a WXGA Samsung screen. Is that going to be a problem?

The reason I am asking is because the order is pending since my stupid credit card company put a hold on the order again. I ordered a desktop a couple of months ago and the ordered was cancelled by dell for the same reason.
Bank of America gives me fits with these holds. I have $25,000 credit limit with no outstanding balance and they cannot approve the $600 charge immediately, crazy. Anyway should I just stick with configuration or let it drop and get a laptop with a better processor?

    Thanks for the help.

    Brad

The processor is fine for what your wife will be using it for. Even if you wanted to game, it'd be fine because you'd be limited by the 8400m GS.

Some Samsung screens are beautiful, others aren't. You'll just have to wait and see when it arrives; there is no way of knowing ahead of time if the screen will be good or not.

The laptop config you purchased should be fine for your wife. As for Bank of America....... Do what I did and change banks.

Thanks for the information--update on the payment issue--it was my dell $200 gift card that got rejected. No idea why, I am on hold typing this.
