    Ordered, shipping date?

    Well, I ordered my Inspiron 6400 and I have a question.

    It says the ship date is the 17th, is that a far estimate or is it a good estimate?

    Do they usually arrive before the estimated time?

    Dell usually overestimates their ship date - it should ship around a week after ordering, so the 13th would be a good estimate.

    Yes... They do over estimate ship date. I got mine 5 days from ording to my door. So if everything goes smooth, you should get it before ship date.

    They use UPS. Alot of people dont like this because they are somewhat infamous for loosing systems.

    Dell uses UPS for big packages usually.

    I ordered mine on a Friday and it was delivered the following Wed. According to the site, UPS got the package on Mon. but it took two days to get from Ten. To my house in PA.

    Hmm, I am in Canada. Do they have a Dell plant in Canada or do they ship it all the way from the States?

    They ship from Texas I believe, depending on what you get
    They use Purolator for Canadian shippments

    they said it would take 10 days but it took 6 days! 2 of which were the weekend! Then again i live in Australia. Dell probably manufactures in India or Singapore or somwhere for this region :D

    I ordered mine early in the morning on the 4th. The prelimenary shipping date is the 16th. Hopefully it will be here by the 11th or so.

    Well im in Brampton, Canada - and I just ordered it on july 31st. Right now i got my tracking number. and it says it is suppose to be delivered today...

    However i highly doubt it cause the only scanning my notebook has gone through was the initial one...hasnt crossed the border yet...kinda sucks

    10 days is up on the 10th..but i want it now :(

    anyways...sucks to be in canada to buy products...stuff takes so long to ship - or isnt shipped at all to us...

    Heh. I estimated correctly! They shipped mine yesterday, on the 11th. It is currently in transit and if UPS doesn't work on Saturday/Sunday it may remain in Transit until Monday. Since they should be shipping mine from Texas, I expect it around Wednesday or Thursday.
