Well I took the big jump off the pier again (2nd order) and I just want to know if there is a way to tell if I am indeed getting the LG XK309 or not. Where on my order details would it be or do I have to wait until I get it to verify. The rep did say that and we went over that issue 3 or 4 times. I read here as well that they may be out of the Samsung and no longer using them...(fingers crossed)...thanks all for any replies...

    sure there is.

    1. buy plane ticket to malaysia
    2. locate manufacturing facility for your computer
    3. gain access
    4. locate your specific computer inside the manufacturing facility
    5. follow it down the line until you get the LCD installation guy (or girl)
    6. convince lineworker to stop what they are doing, go yank an LG LCD from the warehouse, and install it for you

luckily, english is the language of commerce in malaysia so you won't have to learn chinese.

    good luck.

no way. you have to wait and see. Also doesn't matter if anyone promised you. you have 50/50 chance to get it.
Been there done that. did not work with me...and I was promised .

I receieved a crappy grainy ugly 1680x1050 wsxga+ screen 2 days ago..... So I'd say no. And as far as I hard they haven't discontinued the samsung. Hell they won't even ackknowledge the problem on xps tech support. no matter how many people I talk to they are all oblivious.

there is a tech guy from dell on this form. he only saw the diffrence when he saw these photos in the thread I posted. so I think some of these techs never seen the problem. only heard about it.
