First off, it's my first post here so hello.

I ordered a Dell XPS 15 from Dell ? The Official Site for Computer & PCs | Dell Canada on 4/14/2011 (Ground Shipping)

The estimated delivery date has always been 5/02/2011, it's been 11 days now and when I check my Order Status (I do it obsessively haha), it's always on 'In Production'.

I tried doing a few google searches to find out what the Order Stages for Canada are, but to no avail.

    Shipping Method : Canada Standard.

I just wanted to know if this was normal, also if anyone's ever ordered a Dell from the Canadian website, could you tell me what your experience was like?.

I can't seem to find much online about Canadian orders, so it'd be nice to have a thread for us canucks :).

Cheers to all and hope you had a great Easter weekend.

P.S > Is there an Automated Order Status number like the US site?, I've tried the number listed on dell.ca but I couldn't get hold of anyone, it's clear that it wanted to hook me up to a sales rep.

I'm also from Canada, more specifically: Toronto.
I ordered 04/21/11, EDD is 05/06/11. Mines also "In production" and is Canada Standard.

I ended up speaking to Customer Service and probably got redirected to India, I got an updated EDD for the 29th of April which sounded great.

Soon after that, my Order Status updated online (suspicious much? haha) from 'In Production', to 'Delivery Preparation'.

The next day, it changed to 'Shipped' and I finally got a tracking number for Purolator. This of course made me a little nervous, I've read quite a lot of horror stories about their service. It's still says 'Shipped' on the Dell site but I can track the progress of the package through Purolator itself.

It was stuck on 'In Transit in the US' for a few days, but yesterday I got an automated call from Purolator saying that they were going to deliver the laptop tomorrow between the bracket of 9AM - 6PM.

I checked the Status again today and it's arrived in Toronto, and within a few minutes, it updated again to 'On vehicle for delivery'.

So far so good, but I'm trying my best to not keep my hopes up.

Here's what it looks like so far-

2011/04/28 09:21 On vehicle for delivery
    2011/04/28 04:54 Shipment In Transit
    2011/04/27 16:58 Shipment In Transit
2011/04/27 16:57 Picked up by Purolator
    2011/04/25 18:02 In Transit in U.S.

I'm from Toronto too. If I've learned anything so far with this order, it's that you're very likely to receive yours way earlier than the EDD they put up on the site.

So far Dell's done their job right, the only hurdle right now is Purolator.

I ordered mine on April 25th, 2011. Current EDD is May 20th, 2011.

Hopefully mine gets here a little earlier than that.

I called in today, didn't have to wait in line for customer service. The guy was nice although based on his accent I'd assume he's from a different continent.

    Order date: 04/21
    EDD: 05/06

I asked the CS rep why my laptop was still "in production", he told me that there was a slight delay however he wouldn't give me the details as to why.
He said it was in the final stages of production (boxing?) and that my laptop is currently in the US. He told me that the latest I should get my laptop would be around June 1st, however I most likely will get it before then.

This frustrates me...but contrary to popular belief, their customer service is not that bad.
