The CSR was about to downgrade the ram on my Vostro 1500 order to 512mb but as soon as she upgraded me to vista premium, it wouldn't allow the ram downgrade. she said a message comes up saying vista premium requires at least 1gb of ram. if i kept vista home basic, i think i would've been able to downgrade the ram.

Why the hell would you downgrade to 512MB of RAM? It's 2007, I won't even use a computer with less than 1GB myself.

b/c i would rather save a few bux up front and upgrade the ram myself.

if the 1gb was just 1 DIMM, i wouldn't mind as much but it comes in 2x512mb dimms which doesn't leave any room for upgrade.
