I notice that the deals from dell.com, are usually much better than the canadian equivalent. So, i'm wondering. Would it be possible to order from dell.com for a canadian address?, (well aware of the currency issue, so aside from this, is it possible)

IIRC the shipping will counter-balance the discount.

They can't unless you have it sent to an Ameri-friend, and have them send it to you. Even then, there will be customs if its sent across the border.

Dell.com does not ship to Canada. And even if they did (there are ways around it), it would be cost-prohibitive. If you call dell up, you can usually get better deals over the phone than the ones you see on the web.

Ah, ok then. No chance for saving moolah there then.

as for calling Dell, yes, I did that and ordered my notebook a whole month ago. Its still not here, i'm getting peeved. I can get something better for the same price now (disregarding the additional discount I garnered from calling). But it seems like i'm the only person in the world getting a T5500 C2D. Everyone is jumping on the T7200+bandwagon, should I have sprung for it instead?

that doesn't sound right. when you order from Dell over the phone they gurantee that it will be on your doorstep in 10 days (unless you picked something like C2D at the time).
