So I tried to order an Inspiron 1420 on the Canadian website, but I got an email the next day saying that my credit card has a security hold. Now the discounts are expired, I'm not sure if I can still get that deal. I at least need 2 weeks in order use my credit card, is it possible that they hold the order for that long?

I can't say for certain, but it's possible that certain reps, with permission from their sales managers, may be able to set up something to hold an order with the special deal. Although I highly doubt it.
Don't worry though, Dell always has good deals going on all the time. -
I know that when I accidentally had an extra order in my cart on the Dell site, I got an email saying they would "hold" my order (thanks Dell!) until January 31st, the end of the sale.
I'm guessing that's the policy, but it's always worth a shot. It seems like Dell is pretty eager to please, but maybe not so much if you haven't already given them some $$. -
I also called them a million times, would I get black listed?
