So I tried calling in to Dell about my order hoping that the CSR would knock some dollars off my config, but to no avail. I've read elsewhere that some CSRs are like "just call and I'll help you out". Is this because I didnt have an order already placed before I called? Should I order first and then call (and perhaps threaten to cancel my order) ?

Does anybody have any experience/hints to give regarding how to get the CSRs to give you a better deal, even if you've already applied coupons etc.

They also keep telling me to get the DPA for a 4% off, but I want to use my Visa CC to double the warranty.

Also, has anybody had any luck with the chat advisors? can they help?

No no and no. I am convinced that dell reps are the spawns of satan sent here to send you to an early grave so you can spend eternity trying to talk sense into their reps.

It sounds like you are able to apply all of the coupons? thats better than 99% of people.
