I ordered an E1705 through Dell outlet today. My question to anyone who has done likewise is Why does it take a week for them to ship the computer out if you order it through the outlet? I understand if it was being built new, but dammit! I want to play with it now!

    Specs for those interested:

    Core Duo T2400 (1.83 GHz)
512 MB ram (I ordered a gig elsewhere)
    80 GB 5400 HD
    8x DVD +/- RW
    17" UXGA
    Go 7800

With 3 year warranty it only cost me $1350 before the memory. Not bad.

Well I never heard of taking a week to ship...but there might be a delay. I know it is usually 8-9 days before you get your comp.

Nevermind, they updated the info. Before it was scheduled to ship a week after I placed the order (a week from today). Now it ships today and should be here next week. Freakin awesome.

Nice congrats. Dell tends to upgrade the site ever 24-72 hours. It used to be every 24-hours. They are really starting to slip. :(
