I just received my laptop from the dell outlet. I have to say I'm very disappointed with the Cosmetics of this laptop, Granted I got it from scratch and dent but this is ridiculous, Smudge marks everywhere, Theres like a million scratches on the lid. Edges on this laptop is all worn out. In all my years I don't think any of my laptops has looked as bad as this one.

I've bought laptops from the outlet before, scratch and dent and they've pretty much all looked brand new with either no blemishes or very very minor ones.Seriously this laptop looks like it's been dropped and been carried around without a sleeve grinding against all sorts of things. DVD Drive is loud as hell also feels like its grinding against something inside.

Has anyone else gotten laptops from the outlet in this bad of a condition?

No offense, but if you buy laptops labeled Scratches & Dents, you should be expecting what happened...

I've bought laptops labeled scratch and dent, and usually these are very minor usually not visible.

This looks like a laptop someone's old ass laptop that was sent to dell to fix. Yes I dont really care, as long as it works.

I just want to see if anyone else received a laptop in this sort of condition before from the outlet.

I purchased from outlet back when you couldn't distinguish between "refurbished", "scratch n dent", or "returned as new". The notebook I got back than was perfect. The only way you could tell it was refurb'd was by the sticker on the bottom.

Having said that, were I to purchase an outlet machine TODAY, I would definitely get a scratch n dent as a last resort. I would assume that out of your choices, 'returned as new' is first and 'scratch n dent' is last or never.

    Return it.

I bought my M1330 from the outlet as "certified refurbished" and it was practically perfect, just a couple fingerprint smudges which I could obviously clean off and 1 very minor scratch on the palm rest. The "previously ordered new" have never been opened and are slightly more expensive, but you should expect them to be in new condition when you open it. "Scratch and dent" are obviously returns that have been pretty roughly used and I did notice they were substantially cheaper than equivalent configs in other categories, so FWIW I'd say you pay for what you get.

If you're unhappy, just return it as the others have said.

Previously I've gotten scratch and dents with almost no visible flaws. That's exactly what I thought Scratched and Dent was.... Returns that have had some kind of ding or slight handling mishaps.

This is DEFINATELY a used system that was probably sent in for repair/ poorly fixed. Original owner probably got a system exchange and they're trying to sell it in the outlet. I cant even run the laptop for more than 10 minutes without having it lock up on me.

you should send it back. Outlet QC has gone down hill in the last few months. I had to return a couple of desktop systems which we were actually bent out of shape. That has never been the case in the past.
