This week I ordered two refurbished M1330s from the outlet. The first one arrived today and it looks great. I sorted through the box and got ready to plug it in, I couldn't.
Where the power brick plugs into the wall cord the female is of a different species from the male. The power brick has a plug that looks a bit like Mickey Mouse, while the cord has a plug that looks like a standard two prong plug you'd see on the back of a stereo.
Perplexed, I tried for a few minutes to work out the puzzle, but it just doesn't go together. I turned on the laptop anyway to test it out only to find out that it squeals like a 15 year old CRT TV.
The body is beautiful, not a flaw on it, but I'm unwilling to play the Dell "fix me" game again and have requested a return. I just hope my Wife's blue version does better. Though I already expect not since when I ordered it the spec sheet claimed .30mp camera for an LED screen and the invoice claims a standard screen and 2.0mp camera.
Not happy so far.

Welcome to the dell fiasco!

I found out my old Inspiron 6000 adapter is one of the ones listed on the bottom of the m1330 and can use it now. The squeal is maddening, and I think my screen is funky because in the white areas there is some minor grid or something. Like millions of tiny dots.
Is that the grainy thing some people talk about?
Outlet screw up, or just some type of puzzle?
