I have the Xtreme-G MobileForce 84.56 v2.40 drivers and they loaded without a single issue. After tweaking and playing with the drivers and setting up my games, I decided to play with the clock speeds... rather, I let the driver play with the clock speeds. After extended gaming sessions, my GPU never got above 70C, so I figured there was room for more speed.

I hit the automatic overclock button and it chose the following:

    Stock: 250 Core, 700 Mem
    OC: 365 Core, 866 Mem

That's a 46% boost in core speed and 23% for memory. I'll try to post some 3DMark scores later. GPU temps hit around 75-77C now...

Great OC'ing. You will definently get a better score on those clocks. When I first got my I9300 it got 3400 3dMarks and now after OC it gets 4574 or something like that. As for the cooler, I am guessing you have the E1705, which is the same form factor as the I9300. I would recommend this one from newegg:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834999336

The laptop does hang over the sides, but it leaves the room for the bottom vents to get air. There was like a 5-10 degree drop in my temps once I started using this cooling pad.

Acolyte - Are you have any heat issues at all?? Or are you using a cooling pad??

From all the complaints I hear, I'm suprised you are even able to OC a 7800 in an e1705 at all without the GPU melting down. :/

I am having the heat issues...I ran the benchmark then returned to stock speeds....

Am ordering a cooling pad this week. May even go back to dell drivers until coolpad arrives, but I am not doing any intense gaming in the meantime.

I know we're kinda talking between 2 forums, but I'll just post it here... Did you decide for sure to go with what you posted above?

Cool! (no pun intended) I was looking at that one before - and on your recommendation, I just ordered it. Does it "clip on" in any way? I couldn't really figure that part out. I'd like it to stay attached when I move it...

It does not clip on. It has rubber feet that hold the laptop. I have no problems moving it. Also this is not recommended for your lap, believe me it is uncomfortable :p If you try and slide the laptop accross your desk the cooling pad stays attached no problems. Only time it will come off is if you lift it.

Believe me...for the price you can't go wrong. :p

I am deciding between the Vantec Lapcool4 and the Bytecc...

Vantec is more expensive by about 15$, however, what I am looking at is the "lap" factor...
The Vantec seems more portable and one that would be able to be used on the lap....

    Anyone else care to comment?

The Bytecc is cheaper, and from what I have read a better cooler. But the disadvantage is that you can't really put it on your lap...the vantac will have the same problem on your lap due to the fans being on the bottom.

This can be resolved by getting what is called a lap-desk something like this.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&description=&srchInDesc=&minPrice=&maxPrice=

Personally I would go for the Bytecc and Macally "Lap-desk" it comes out to just over what you would pay for the Vantecc.

So let me know if someone found a better alternative. :p

    Hope this helps!
