I want to OC my 1060 Max-Q with MSI Afterburner, what is the safest values to start on core/memory? Would it make difference in heroes of the storm or sc2?

You increase the value until the game crashes.
It's safe, all you do is undervolt the card so that it powerlimit throttles less, you technically cannot overclock the MaxQ card.

Thanks, but how to undervolt it? And safe values to start? My core voltage is grayed out in MSI Ab

When you "overclock" in MSI Afterburner you basicially undervolt it. Just slide the core clock to +150mhz, then work your way with firestrike and +25mhz until firestrike crashes.

Note, that you can overclock memory, which can cause failuires etc. Memory clock also doesnn't make a major difference, so I would suggest leaving it be.

So it worth the hassle at all? Or just give up that OC idea?

It's not really a hassle. I'd say it's worth it for the most part.

Would it help in CPU demanding games like SC2 or Heroes of the storm?

It all depends on the bottleneck. Both games are DX 9 games, hence higher clockspeed can help quite a bit.

Start at +150 clock /+350 memory and work your way up from there.

Yes it is worth it, but it does add more heat so keep that in mind if you have the hotter 8750H cpu.
