Hello. Where can I find a good guide about overclocking this GPU?
I watched this youtube tutorial ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTSdX6KiGaU ) but it doesn't explain anything about, for example, overclocking the gpu only when playing games, or if the overclock will remain after the computer is rebooted ( or if the overclock will only work if "RivaTuner" is opened, like undervolting with RMark)
Anyone overclocked his GPU?
Thanks![]()

Theres a few OC guides in the gaming section.
Rivatuner isnt the like RMclock
Once you set the OC with rivatuner, you can close it and the OC will still be in effect. But if you restart the notebook it will go back to stock clocks.
I suggest using CPU-z -
yea just use rivatuner to OC the gpu. U can manually set the overclock at anytime and to have it set right after boot. So it will in essence always be overclocked. If you want to have it over clock just when playing a game there are settings in rivatuner that i believe will o/c the gpu on launch of a new game. Just use the search thing at top of page and there should be a few guides around.

check out 3dguru its a great site for drivers and benchmark software and a great forum. I'd be careful about overclocking. I just got my 1530 and compared to my mackbook pro with the same processor and video card this thing runs hot and not just when playing games. It's one thing to pull a fried video card out of a desktop I think a lil harder to replace in a laptop. One nice thing in the winter time it should keep me nice and toasty lol.

@egold
Lol. I don't think it's possible to replace a vid card in laptops though as they are mostly soldered down on the mobo.
Btw, how about the performance on your 1530 compared to the MBP? -
I dont have xp on the MBP so making a performance comparison is hard. We use the MBP for recording mostly. On a hardware comparison the MBP looks nicer, I like the backlit keyboard, stays way cooler than the dell, I dont feel the HD spinning as I do with the dell, optical drive on the dell seems to make less noise when loading a disc and I like the firewire 800 for the future on the MBP. LED LCD is the same in quality nice and bright no dead pixels when I got either system. On the OS side, once you get use to the MAC it's way easier to use for instance: I dont have to set up the MAC to join a network, click on networks it scans and finds all the computers on the router pick the drive and its done a very nice feature. There's no maintenance at all just boot and use. on the downside, limited free software thats about it. I suppose in one respect part of the fun about windows is building the hardware and watching it come to life tweaking to get the most out of it. on the downside personally I think M/S put way to much security crap into vista, I mean dont tell me if I want to continue launching a program if I didnt want to use I wouldnt of clicked it so I turned that off. As Im getting older I find Im not interested in tweaking and O/C as much as I used to be. Let me turn it on and start using it . no need to go thought all that crap of uninstalling software then going into program files delete the folder if it's still there then do a registry clean to get rid of the stuff add remove left over,, with the MAC just drag the icon to the trash and thats it. The MAC has limited games the dell's going to be for my son and college and I wanted something that will last the 4 years. Apple support is A1, I havent needed to use dell and can fix most software issues myself. Dell 4 year in home service is really what made me go with Dell especially because he will be in college out of state.
