Ok, so, this is actually 2 separate questions. Don't wanna waste space.
1. I've been looking around to upgrade my E1705. its got the T2400 and Go 7800 GPU. both work fine, but throwin around ideas of upgrading. From what i can tell, the new Core2 Duo 7200 seems to be the sweet spot. Also im hoping for a 7900 or higher GPU. ANYWAY... until that dream happens, i've researched overclocking my T2400, and havn't gotten anywhere. Is it possible or has Intel locked the clock multiplyer???
2. When I bought the laptop in july of '06, i just got standard 1 year warranty. Now that i've had it for a while, its gotten scratches, and im increasingly worrying about damages to it and etc. Is there a way i can buy like, an extended warranty now? or will they not allow that?

as far as overclocking goea it is almost impossible because there is no information on dells pll chip
as to the warranty just call dell before your warranty expires and tell them you want to extend it, its just breaks down to how long you want and how much money you want to spend

yah, i've searched all around for information about the pll. I ended up finding this: http://www.winbond.com/e-winbondhtm/partner/_computer_cg_c4ic.htm
Step-less Frequency IntelĀ® 915/945 Series Chipset Clock Gen
which says its part number: W83195BG-120
and package: SSOP 56
I dunno if that helps any or not though. -
Nobody has successfully overclocked the Core CPUs on Dell laptops. The only one that's overclockable is the T7600G, but you can't buy that except with a new M1710 system.

Is it because Dell did something to the chipset? or is it higher up and Intel did something about it?
Overclocking T2400?
