Hey, I am currently overclocking the 7900 GS on my laptop with 450/1100 clock frequencies. The temperature is pretty low, peak is 71 C and that is after playing Oblivion at max settings for 3 hours. However, I heard that overclocking voids the warrenty, and since I got 3 years of accidental warrenty, will it void that too? And how can they tell if you overclocked the card or not (if the card isnt damaged and stock speeds are reflashed)?

Most graphics cards (and laptops as a whole for that matter) have the protection needed to prevent damage. They'll shut down before they allow themselves to get damaged to do OCing. Also, AFAIK the speeds are programmed into the drivers themselves...not the card BIOS (or equivalent).
I would consider OCing my laptop, but it runs pretty hot while gaming as it is (high 70s).
Oblivion maxed out? At what resolution? Wow... -

4x AA, at 1280x...1080 i think... i cant remember
but ya, the card seems to be really cool, esp under the stress that its going under... maxes out at 71

well yes it voids the warranty but they cant tell, unless your GPU is on fire lol... but go ahead an oc. they cant tell!

Yea, as long as you don't damage it you should be OK. Just makes sure you get rid of all of your OCing programs should you need to send it in!
