This is just a general question as I ordered the Dell 1420 with the discrete 128MB graphics card and want to know if we will be able to overclock it to the likes of the GT model of the 1520's.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

The GPU in the 1420 is the 8400GS while the (top end) GPU in the 1520 is a 8 600GT. These are fundamentally different cores. Even if you could overclock the 8400GS to the same speeds as a 8600GT, it would still be considerably slower. The 8400 has 1/2 the # of stream processors (16 vs 32), 1/2 the RAM and 1/2 the memory bus width (64- vs 128-bit) compared to a 8600.

You can overclock to a 8400GT, but do you even understand the difference between the 8400GS and the 8600GT?!?
