Hey! I was able to self-diagnose and self-resolve my issue. It turns out it was ENTIRELY a driver issue!

My notebook came with 17.0.3.2 (or something like that). And the latest on the DELL support site is 17.0.5.8.
Both drivers gave my wi-fi a speed of between 6 to 13Mbps, depending on which channel the router was using.

I decided to try the very latest drivers from INTEL (screw dell). I think 17.14.0. Bingo, now I am getting 33mbps on my wifi (if I choose a good channel) or even 25mbps on a congested channel (I am in a dense area). My internet package is 35/3 so basically I am maxing out my connection now.

Anyways, clearly there must be some incompatibility issue between my wifi router (TP-Link) and the old intel drivers that Dell is using, which Intel resolved in their very latest drivers.

This makes me want to update all the rest of the drivers to Intel's latest too... like the video card!

So I just noticed today that dell put up a "Special Edition" version of this that trades plastic for aluminum. Basically dell made an HP Spectre x360 out of this already great computer.

I tried it shortly after release. I can't say I noticed any changes. Maybe some slight improvments in the PgUP/Down experience, some websites this would get a bit buggy and stop working, but I haven't noticed that in a while.

    The site indicates:

    Dell inspiron 7347 System BIOS

This package provides the Dell System BIOS update and is supported on Dell Inspiron 7347 for Windows and DOS Operating Systems.

Thank you. I have also just tried BIOS A04 and it's fine.

Also, I installed the following firmware updates and they are both fine as well:

    SensorHub_Firmware_Dell _A01_WIN8.14.zip
    Touchpad _Firmware_Synaptics_A01_WIN8.14.zip

Just a note, you may need to uninstall Microsoft patch KB2934520 in order to install the Sensor Hub update

Anyone actually tested the active stylus can Please share the experience or review video of it, i am not talking about the passive stylus that comes with it, i am talking about Active Stylus which you buy for 40 euro or dollar extra as accessories on dell, Dell says it is compatible but i have never heard or saw someone using it.

    Hi,

Those of you using this laptop with Windows 8.1 may have the following 2 driver-related updates on Windows Update:

Intel driver update for Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
    published: 5/16/2015

Intel corporation - Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - Intel HD Graphics family
    published: 4/29/2015

My question is: Have any of you installed these 2 driver updates from Windows Update? If so, how is your laptop performing and could you also please post screenshots of the driver version that it actually installs (from device manager).

    Thanks!

I would also like to upgrade my 1 TB HHD to a 256 SSD. Rather than reloading the OS on the new drive, wouldn't it be easier to clone the original drive with installed software and data onto the new SSD rather than starting from scratch? Can anyone confirm the maximum thickness of a replacement drive. On one of the YouTube tutorials, it mentions that a standard SSD drive is 2 mm too thick, but will still work.

Edit - I got it yesterday. It has scratch at the bottom. No scratch every where else. Keyboard and screen looks new and smells new too.

I got a great deal! Thank you Dell!

I purchased my Dell 13 7348 yesterday. It has a Broadwell Ci5 with 8gb ram. I've noticed that when i'm using the laptop the underside of keyboard gets really hot. Is it a problem ?

I open up my 7348 and put in a new 1TB SSD. Only 1 screw is holding the ssd. I guess that's enough. The speaker grill is kinda bend and I have to bent it straight. Bottom is scratch. Everywhere looks good. Cant complaint for i7 $489 on a scratch n sniff refurb.

I have the 15" version of the 2 in 1. I was considering cloning the original drive, but I found that the laptop was way too slow, so I figured part of it was whatever Dell installed on top of the OS. I figured I'd try for a clean install instead. I got the Samsung EVO 250gb, and it fit perfectly. I used the windows media creation tool to get my USB ready, then swapped out the HD for the SSD, put in the USB, and honestly from the time I took the case off the laptop, to the time I was up and running, was under an hour. The computer runs MUCH better now and bootup is like 3-4 seconds.

The thickness of the new drive is 7mm, which is the same thickness of the HD that shipped with the laptop.

Hi. I've just bought Dell Inspiron 13 2in1 model 7359 with intel I7 6500U. I got the active stylus 740-AAHC, but it isn't recognized, nothing at all. I don't know if I have to install some driver or if I have to do anything, but if no one can find a solution, I will return back the stylus to amazon. Probably my model have not the synaptics screen. :(

After months of fighting with Dell regarding 'Ghost Touches' on the 7347, I had to have two RMAs back to Dell for Repair. The last RMA process took almost two months, I'm happy to report that I got a replacement device:
    Inspiron 7353 with Intel I5-6200U 8gb / 500GB HD

    ===============================
    SKYLAKE
    ===============================

So far so good, the device is much much cooler and quieter. I have been testing it but haven't found any major problems yet.
Some minor issues, I've noticed that the processor never seems to go into turbo mode, i've not been able to clock speeds higher then 2300 (should be able to go up to 2800).
I'm also unsure on the gaming performance, I haven't done very well in some benchmarks like Heaven Benchmark. I'm averaging about 17 FPS / Low quality / No AA / No Tessellation / 1280x720P

Sorry Maxxmoto, I don't have an answer

I have noticed already that there's an updated BIOS for the Skylake series:
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/US...ptop&languageCode=EN&categoryId=BI&DCP=DNDTAG

    Fixes & Enhancements
    Fixes
-Fix system no display after dirty shutdown then boot again

Funny, i've seen this issue, even though I have a fix, but a reboot usually fixes it, so I haven't been overly concerned.

After several weeks of troubleshooting, I have come to the conclusion that the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 (7347) - the primary subject of this thread - is NOT 100% compatible with Windows 10. Essentially, Dell is LYING by stating that "we've tested it and it's fine" on the Dell support site.

    The key problems are:

    - system won't go to sleep properly
    - system won't shut down properly (fast startup on)
    - system won't shut down properly (fast startup off)

They all appear to be linked to the Intel Management Engine Interface driver, but as I've tried almost EVERY VERSION OF THAT DRIVER in existence, there really is no solution to this issue.

What was really bad is, this past weekend I shutdown my laptop (currently I'm testing with fast startup off) and unbeknownst to me, the laptop never actually shut down. It started to drain the battery overnight... the next morning, the computer was completely DEAD and I had to let it sit plugged into AC for about 45 minutes before I could even turn it on (once I got into Windows, it said battery was at 3%!)

I need to emphasize that something like this NEVER happened under Windows 8.1 - this was a 100% stable machine before the upgrade.

You know, I can't say that I had this problem with my 7347 (when I owned it), it worked correctly most of the time, (the odd mis-fire).

Since you failed to mention it, I'd recommend you do a reformat and a clean install of Windows 10. Start by making a USB stick with the Windows 10 install media, and copy all the 7347 drivers, (especially any Wifi drivers, grab a few extra from Intel's site) into a separate folder on the USB stick.
During installation, make sure you delete all of the partitions and perform a fresh install over the drive.

Go ahead and make yourself a Windows 8 Install Media incause you don't like the results and want to go back, its also on the microsoft site.

Alternatively, you can try the Intel Management Engine Interface drivers for other 'cousin' models, like the 7348, 7352, 7353 and 7359. They might work better, but do so at your own risk.

Hello, if i would have seen this thread earlier.... I have the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 and i have also the dell active stylus 750-AAHC. This stylus has worked very well, but mine was a bit defect, because it jumped sometimes around and it destroyed a bit of my notes, but thank god there was a back button :D
After some time my stylus started to lose the connection, i had to unscrew the stylus and then screw it back. I thought it was a battery problem, but the stylus got worse. And the end of the story is, that it fell down and it didn`t work ever again :(
I tried to get a new one over dell, but their support is terrible when you don't know a service tag -.- i bought the stylus separately and it had no service tag on its packaging or on itself.

All i can say that this stylus worked very well.. it had also a pressure sensor, so when you write something the line can have a different depth... but i'm not so sure if i should say very well because i had very much problems in one note... I had to get used to the hovering also, because when i was a bit to high with the stylus from the screen, it recognized my hand again and that is very annoying. I don't know if the stylus is really good, because my stylus was damaged in some way as you know. Anyway i give you an example, that was something at school, i tried to use only my inspiron instead of paper... this was with bamboo paper [IMG] and this with one note 2013 [IMG]
As you can see, in one note my notes looked not so good, but it has more useful tools so i used one note normally.

My question is now, has anyone tested any other active stylus? I want to get a new one, but i dont know which one and i dont know if the same one is really worth it to buy.

I know this is an old old thread, but I just picked up a used 7347 which turned out to have the touchscreen ghost touch issue. I installed the touch tray toggle app which worked just fine as a temporary solution. After taking the screen apart several times I stumbled on a solution that has worked. I noticed that the ghost touches were worst when I put pressure on the lower left part of the screen below the display and above the bezel. So I took the screen apart again and put several layers of masking tape in that area on the back of the screen in order to stabilize the several connections that are made in that area of the screen. Once reassembled the touchscreen problems are gone. This has held true for a couple weeks now. If anyone is still using their 7347 (it's a work computer for me and I love it), maybe this will be helpful.
