    PC restore: stalls on loading "DRMK 8.00"

    After completing a system restore on my old inspiron 1300 get the message
    "Loading PBR for description 1 ... done
    Loading DRMK version 8.00"
    And it never gets past that point. restarted multiple times, cannot reenter
    ctrl+f11 pc restore menu, but able to enter f2 bios.

    Some people have suggested that the SATA drive was just disabled, but this machine does not even use SATA.

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
