Has anyone able to bluetooth pairing their Cell phone with their laptop?

Specifically with a HTC620 or t-mobile Dash phone. Every time it asks me for a keyword or password on both ends and even though I put the same value it tells me that it could not pair. I have been reading on the net that it could be related to the Bluetooth Widcomm drivers.

    Thanks,

Check www.howardforums.com. Their forums deal with mobile phones and if there is an issue with the Widcomm drivers they would know.

    Thanks,
I am a member there as well and that is where I got the widcomm hint. I was hoping someone with a Dell and a Dash/htc 620 owner would give me some insight.

yeah, howardforums is a great place for cellphone advice. when it asks for the password, it should nomally be a default password such as "0,0,0,0" or "1,2,3,4". good luck

I would check T-Mobiles website for that phone or even the phone manufacturer and you should find the default password necessary to send files via bluetooth. I had the same issue with my LG CU500, I didn't know the password. But once I figured out the password everything was pretty straightforward. Also when you go through the Bluetooth discovery of the devices it should automatically install the drivers for what capabilities are available.

The default password is usually 4 zeros. For trouble shooting try pairing with other devices. You could also try installing the windows bluetooth drivers. HTC phones usually run windows mobile or smart phone operating systems. It might help having microsoft software on both ends. I have seen it help active sync issues on a phone that was already paired.

I have read the T-mobile dash manual and it says that you can use any combination of 16 characters.Of course this does not work. So I tried Brown_FV "0000" for the hell of it and it works. Anything outside of "0000" will not allow the pairing.

    Thanks,
