Sorry to sound like a troll, but I really don't see the need of such a poll. D820's better as a multimedia machine whereas the D620 was designed with portability at heart (they even used a mono speaker). Two different notebooks designed for two totally different types of needs.

edit: All right. I'd try to be helpful.

When you say multimedia/desktop replacement, do you mean you'd be playing games with it? If so, forget the Latitude D620. Might I recommend you something else?

The idea of a portable desktop replacement is pretty much an oxymoron, but this would soon change with the new ASUS W3J. Great 14" screen, X1600 graphics -- you really can't ask for more. If you're okay with its somewhat bland looks, you've got an obvious choice here.

geez, that comment wasn't very helpful... i asking... what would you choose and why... i think nowadays people use their notebooks for a bit of everything and i'm refering to most to screen size differences...

my needs are for this notebook are 50% multimedia/desktop replacement and 50% for travelling/portability... its a fine line decision... will the 820 seem to big or 620 seem to small, lol

    thanks anyway and peace

Ditto. I have a 15.4" now and it's just a bit too big and heavy. 14" is just a lot easier to throw around.

What's up with the mentioning of "speakers"? Call me an idiot, but shouldn't it be "speaker" instead since it's monomial?

Spent some time reading about the D620 and it has to rank as one of the most impressive notebooks at this price point; magnesium alloy chassis, too. It weighs in at 4.7 lbs; I thought I was waiting for ASUS's or even MSI's small form factor units, but that was really before this one.

Is it just me or does Laptop Magazine overestimate the battery life of their laptops that they test?
