Help! I can't get my Dell Vostro 1400 to play music thru my Motorola S9 bluetooth headset. I know it's not the bluetooth headset because it works with my Sprint PPC-6700.

The Dell finds and pairs with the S9, and the drivers install as it should. I can even get connect "Wireless Stereo" in the audio tab. The problem is that the sound doesn't go through the headset and plays through the laptop speakers.

I tried removing the pairing and re-pairing several times, but no luck. On the other hand, the media control does work.

Set the audio output device to Bluetooth instead of the Sigmatel or whatever your default sound card.

If you are using Windows Media Player you can also change it under Tools>Options>Devices >Speakers (Changing the default output device is supported by most players, however if you change it in Windows then that is enough)

You have to put the right code....I forget what it was.. I sent mine back when I returned my 1420. The code is in the manual.. It won't work if you don't use that. These were decent, but I thought they dropped out a little too much..also the volume levels were a bit too low. Make sure you change out the buds with the bigger ones. you will get much better base. I was thinking of getting another pair for the HP I am getting tomorrow.. but looking back, the S9's gave me less then expected performance.. Although they are probably one of the better ones on the market. I think I will just plug in My wireless Sennheiser RS 130 and give them a try.. they broadcast at 600mhz and have much better range then bluetooth.. At least they won't drop out. With the S9's you want to crank the notebook volume all the way and keep the volumn on the S9's as low as you can and still have adequate volume. Otherwise, you may get too much noise levels. I guess the reason I really did not care for them is that typically, Hi Definition sources have a much lower volume output and when playing my X264 files the S9's just could not provide enough volume. But on regular DVD's and music, these phones were excellent.

Well, the code is easy: 0000.
I have changed to the buds I liked since I've been using the S9 for about a month with my PocketPC Phone (Spring PPC6700). It's a great combo at the gym!

I've even successfully paired the S9 to my desktop before. I just can't get it to work properly with the Dell Vostro
