Okay here is the story.
I placed and order on June 16 2009 for the new Dell Studio 14z Laptop.... The estimated delivery date was July 22, 2009 (). I called to find out about the hold up and the rep put me on hold told me it was in production. This went on for 3 days. I decided to cancel the order but when I called Dell they tell me the odrder was shipped. I check website and it still says in production. Now I am pssed and I don't want the Studio 14z I purchased a Mac Book from the local APPLe store........I paid for the Dell with my dell preferred account ...... can I just refuse the delivery and get my money back or should I accecpt the delveiry and then call dell to ship it back. Also how wwould that affect my dell preferred account. How long will it take to get credited back to the account.

    Please help :(

Yes, from what I know, if you are within the 30 days since the date of invoice, you are entitled to a full refund.

Actually it's 21 days from date of invoice for return for refund / replacement.. ;)

So, once you receive either refuse delivery or accept, and contact Dell to start the return process.

And, once it's returned to Dell and the return is processed accordingly the credit will be applied to your Dell DPA. It can take up to 2 billing cycles..though I would say prob's only one!

    Cin ;) :)

This exact thing happened to me two years ago. I ordered a system and then called back ten minutes after I ordered it to cancel. DHL still showed up at my door with the system in hand. I refused the delivery and he took it back on the truck. I called Dell and told them and they said that when the system came back to them they would reimburse my Dell Preferred Account. And sure enough two weeks later I got a statement that showed the reimbursed amount. I did however have to pay $5.42 for the shipping back to them which was nothing really. And that was it. So yes you can refuse the package when it's brought to you by the delivery guy and he just sends it back to dell.
