I've had my notebook for a little over two years (Inspiron 6000) and I was wondering if there's any paint or anything that can be used to redo fading spots on the case.

It's particularly where I rest my palms for typing.

I'm also open to other solutions, such as if there is some sort of padding or anything that I could put on the keyboard.

never heard about this kind of paint...
maybe you can put somthing on your hands rather than the laptop.. like those half gloves I don't know if the moisture from the hands make the pait wear out or just the friction..... and i don't think it's a good Idea to cover the keyboard.. it might over heat the laptop...

    Doubt it.

Only the battery sits under the palm rest. The hottest part of the computer is like literally underneath the keyboard--the processor/memory.

Someone recommended a pair of those clear screen covers they make for PDA's.
You put them on your palmrest.
