    hi all
    i trying to Partition my C: using the disk management utility in
    vista but it's not working.it displays that the shrink space available is 0MB even though my C: has 60.9 Gb of free space out of 147 GB.
    ANYONE got an IDEA??? :confused:

    It could be a safety feature. Vista uses HDD space for things other than program and document storage. Things like automatic backup, virtual memory, etc. all take up space and Vista may be preventing you from partitioning to ensure that you have enough space to continue those tasks. You might consider purchasing a larger HDD.

    Windows Disk Management utility doesn't really give you the freedom to resize / repartition according to what we want.

    I recommend using GParted Live CD, and it works like a charm.

    Simple How-To use GParted Live CD

    Just follow the steps ^ and you will be amazed at how easy it would turn out to be.

    you can also use norton partition magic it worked for me.
