Anyone try out this product to restore image?
Will the restoration damage the dell's hidden partitions? or become not bootable from dell's restoration partition.

I just downloaded the trial version of v10. Created a restore CD and booted into it. Mind you...with v10...you can run the entire program from DOS...so I did and the option to backup and restore all partitions on the hard drive are present. I see Drive C and I see the Dell diagnostics partition. What I do not see is the Media Direct partition. I cannot see that partition with any programs that I use or have...so I can't answer that one but the rest are there...

I am sorry that I do not get you. Did you mean you backup all the partitions and restore them?

Yes! When you look at the backup screen...it lists the C:\ Drive and the *.\ drive (the Dell diagnostics). You have to check both to back both up. Then on restore...you would check both again to have both restored. Much like Norton Ghost does as well. I just backed up a friends Dell Dimension 2400 so I could put a new hard drive in their machine. I ghosted it...and upon restore...I had to check all partitions to restore them properly. Was quite simple.
