I got a dell 15r a few months ago and pretty soon the C drive was filling up! I then noticed that the 500 gig hard drive is broken into a 58.5 gig "OS" partition (C drive) and a 397 gig "DATA" partition (D drive).

Why the hell did they do this? Pictures and documents are automatically saved to the C drive. Nothing saves by default to the D drive. How does one handle this nonsense???

I have searched extensively but no one else seems to be talking about this problem.

    THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

It isn't a problem; it's a choice. Some people prefer their computers set up that way. If you don't (and after checking there is nothing on D that you want....

Control panel / Admin tools / Comp management / Disk management - Then delete D, then extend C into the space.
