What patches or updates should I add after my XPS 1530 comes?

    Thanks in advance!

And I'm planning on staying on these forums unless y'all kick me off even after I get my laptop up and running - I'm actually quite proficient with a computer, it's just I basically have zero experience with laptops!

I've really only worked with desktops aside from a really old laptop I used for a few years during high school.

If your laptop doesn't come with the latest A08 BIOS installed then that should be the first update. Then go thru the rest of the Dell updates based on your service tag. After that do a Windows Update.

Unless of course you want to first reformat/repartition/reinstall Windows to rid the notebook of bloatware. If so, do that then perform the stuff previously mentioned.

If you know desktops, laptops are really no different other than the size of components.

I would run all of the windows updates, and check dells website to see if they have anything newer than what is installed, but it should be quite up to date.
