Hi All, new here.
Just ordered new XPS from Dell UK last night. Paid with credit card, but they dont appear to have taken any money yet.
I had tried to order the same laptop last month through my business and they cancelled the order without telling me. So I was wondering, how long is it before they take the money from your account?

Credit card purchase can take 2-3 days to actually show up on your statement. Some companies usually take a dollar or so to show that there is something pending ( this dollar is of course refunded ) and then takes out the full amount when the transaction is complete.

Thanks for the reply. My bank (usually) show any debits straight away so I'm a little worried that the order may not have gone through for some reason.
Was really wondering if Dell take the money striaght away or if there is a delay before they actually charge your card. -
Update - They cancelled my order and said to check my e-mail for the reason why. There is no email so I have re-ordered. My 10% off coupon expires today. If this one gets cancelled, they are losing my custom.

That really sucks. Why can't they just tell you over the phone...

Goodness knows - I called them up and the guy was very helpfull. He found my order and my bank had blocked the transaction because of the value. Once I'd spoke to them, the CS rep called me back and we got the order put through. He kept the voucher on too and then after some negotiation he gave me 4 years extended warranty with 35% off - thats 10% more than the offer on the website so I'm happy.
I had tried to buy the same spec laptop last month and there was a problem then but I've manged to get it now for just slightly more than I would have paid last month without the warranty.
