    Hey guys,

Just got my Penryn..As of right now it is pretty quiet..just wanna update you guys with that. I will check the temperature in a bit and update you guys. I gotta say this one got a better build to it, I am not sure if it is the harddrive or what but is that thing at the bottom left hand corner...the old one is kinda stuck out a little but this one is perfectly align. The stock SD card is not sticking out anymore. there are still gap on top of the monitor. And last but not least my bios is A08 I don't why it is like that but i will be back after format with Vista to report more.

Does it still have the CPU whine issue? Hopefully it's been resolved.

    Appreciate the update bud.

However, I believe the "whining" has also been known to appear out of nowhere after a couple of months of usage...

How do people know that it is the CPU that is doing the "whining"? How exactly does a CPU whine? There are no moving parts.

The whine isn't a mechanical noise, it's electrical.

Like when a lightbulb is burning out, or sometimes power lines do so.
