    sorry, two countries so close shouldn't have such similar flags, and I always assosiate NZ with (Mt.) Erebus cause Air NZ flew a DC-10 into it. odd... I know :p

    DAMMIT DELL....how long does it usually take for the US to catch up on dell upgades?. Also was it a big jump in price from the T7700 chip???

    It is not about "the US to catch up on Dell upgrades" it is about moving the stock that they have today. The US locations stock more items so it gets shipped sooner, they still have to move the old before sending out new. Has nothing to do with "catching up."

    So considering that it's now Friday 7th... Monday is looking more likely... so they're pretty accurate =)

    @funndamentals
    We they released/updated it in Aus, they gave a free upgrade to the T9300. This didn't change the price from the previous deals where they upgraded you to the T7700...

    Looking on the site now, the base model M1530 has a T8300 and the upgrade to the T9300 is AUD $148.50 extra (approx US $135)...

    Yeah, mines gonna be here on the 11th as well due to the above mentioned public holiday (it's the same in Victoria as well)

    Got an email from dell saying that there was going to be a delay :p But have had a call from the local courier to receive on the 11th.

    Can't wait!!

    Why are the couriers so slow? By the time dell builds the laptop and sends it to Australia, the couriers take an extra 5 days to deliver the laptop. My laptop was dispatched to couriers on Wednesday 5th and i won't receive it until the 11th.

    what test do you think we should run??

    I am definetly going to run 3dmark06 and see how that compared to my old xps

    I currently have nothing to compare it to as this is my first laptop ever!!!

    bu i might compare it to my Desktop which has an older Core 2 Duo, but the same RAM and get some metrics for people.

    I'm pretty happy with the service so far.

    My first EDD is 19 of March 08 and they changed it to 28th March 08, and i just called the customer service to put me on the priority list and apparently i got it yesterday 18th March.

    For everyone that lives in australia maybe they know hunter valley area in NSW where i work at the moment, so it's not even metro area but they delivered the laptop very quick.

    Since it's not Friday night, 21st March I'm not sure what is going on. I was expecting it to land in Australia yesterday for it to be delivered on Tuesday.

    Since it's the Easter weekend I expect there to be some delays but it's weird that it's been 'loading to export' for this long.
