This may a stupid question, but I'm just wonder between the 2.1 Ghz Penryn and my T7500 Core 2 duo, which will have a better performance???

I think the general consensus will be that the Penryn will give you approximately the same performance but will draw less power and will run slightly cooler.

The Penryn will give you better performance, however both CPUs have top notch performance. Penryn is about 5 - 15% faster than the standard Merom Core 2 Duo clock for clock.

If it's 15% that's actually pretty significant. That would probably show up in stuff like zipping operations and video compression.

Edit: I was curious about this. Your 7500 is 2.2Ghz and has 4mb cache. The 2.1 Penryn only has 3MB cache. For my money, I bet your 7500 is faster.
