Ive been trying to order the Vostro all day on the phone and I can't find someone who can sell it to me. I have been transfered 5 times and have ended up talking to someone who sells to US only 3 times. What # is everyone calling and what are they doing to get through to someone competent cause I'm about to give up all together. I want a Vostro 1400 and have been calling "1-800-387-5752", I live in Canada. Help please.

So why do you want to buy it over the phone? Why not be like 90% of the people here and buy it over the interwebs?

    BTW, you missed the joke.

I'm to annoyed with there phone system to notice a joke. But I wanted to do it over the phone in hopes of saving a bit of money. I managed to get through to sales people twice and they gave me 3% off each time which they seem to give easily. I am hoping for more but I don't see it happening. Any tips anyone?

I started out with a chat, not planning to buy a notebook but just to get to get information. The chat got prematurely aborted. I wasn't expecting anything more to come of it, but Dell called me on the phone a few minutes afterward and eventually convinced me to buy a laptop by adding an extra $100 discount to the $425 off coupon I already had. I was looking at the Inspiron though and not the Vostro.

Try that number, it is dell.com for small business. They were willing to sell me one.

Make sure to browse for deals on Vostros and Inspirons. Depending on the deal you catch, either can be cheaper. Inspiron jumped from being $100 more to $100 less than the Vostro in one day because of a promo they were running up until 2 days ago.
