I bought my Inspiron 1520 with the basic 1 year warranty, and I am thinking about upgrading it to a 2 or 3 year complete care warranty.
I have seen some people post on here that they have been able to add on the 2 or 3 year warranties for 1/3 of the online retail cost by calling in to speak with a phone rep.
If you have managed to successfully do this, what did you say or do to get it so cheap?
    TIA

When I ordered, I spoke with two different people and neither were able to give me a big discount. The first guy just said no, and the second one knocked off $30 after I added the 3-year warranty. Adding the warranty brought my price up to about 1100, and when I asked if I could get that $30 rebate without adding in the warranty, he said no, the additional cost of the warranty was what let them add the small rebate.

Maybe someone else had a better experience and can chime in.

Subtracting something like $30 when you agree to purchase the 3 year warrantee is something that you can get yourself when you choose it from the online order page.....

In essence, they are not doing you any favors...let them know that they aren't helping you. They are not trying hard enough to keep you happy as a Dell customer.
