    Hello All,

My XPS 1530 arrived on 2nd April and Im liking it a lot .

But Im facing one problem, may be a major one but Im not sure .

The problem is whenever I watch some photo or tv from net or via external TV Tuner about 2 inches of space is left "blank" or black on both left and right sides .In other words the whole laptop screen is not filled up.Same is the case with my wallpaper .

I wonder whether anyone else with the same specs as mine is also facing this problem or not ?

If so,what could it be and how to solve it ?

May be Nvidia problem but Ive tried adjusting the settings but problem remains .

    Some one please help .

    Thanks

Umm...The pictures and TV program don't have the same aspect ratio as your screen..

    Have you considered that?

Yes I tried changing aspect ratio of at least the tv tuner but to no avail.

By the way what could be the aspect ratio of my 15.4 inch screen ?

Your screen resolution is of a 16:10 ratio.

    OK Thanks !

But how to make my tv appear full screen without those 2 inches or so empty spaces on left and right ?

Could it be my nvidia is faulty ?Does Nvidia GPU have anything to do with tv tuner picture quality ?

TV AR is 4:3 unless it's an HD tuner which would be 16:9. So it's not going to fit your 16:10 screen. Your wallpaper just sounds like it is the wrong resolution.

Yeah, you need to find a wall paper that fits your screen's resolution (1440x900). If you took a picture with a camera you will need to crop it to these dimensions. For the tv, you would not want to stretch it because it will look distorted. This is why it stays boxed.
