My second replacement will be here next week they said. Hopefully the third one will be all good.

I am away from home 15 hours a day for work...and yesterday was my day off. So I got a chance to look over my new one before I shipped back my first one...and I saw these dents. I only have used it for a few minutes since it came early this week...I wanted to cry when I saw these.

    That must really stink.
Before you send it back, cry all over the screen and keyboard so it'll be all wet for dell when they replace it :D

    Haha. I should.

Or I will put a post-it note on the screen saying: You make me cry :'(

God I'm be pissed if mine showed up after all the waiting we got through to see that. People look into the xps for perfection not letting the snakes bite the laptops in Malaysia.

This is a shame that notebooks in such condition should even be allowed to ship from Dell's factories.. Sorry for your misfortune.

No clue. Maybe something was set on top of it? Just a dented one that wasn't paid attention to when installed?

My replacement is supposed to arrive on Monday.

That is what I figure. 1000's of systems a day...they think someone won't care.

Overpriced? Nah, Remember this. you GET what you PAID for. I have been using my Mac for a week now. Not a single issue. Build quality is way superior above Dell. it is well worth it. Also, Dell's LCDs will NEVER beat Macbook pro's LCDs. Dell LCDs are TN type while Macbook Pro LCDs are IPS. :)

That's not true. No one produces IPS screens anymore. MacBook Pro LCD's are so nice because it's a 300nit LED backlit screen.

A highend type of LCD panel that is viewable from damn near every angle. The only "normal" notebook that I ever saw them in were FlexView equipped Thinkpad 15" 4:3 notebooks.

I hope your patience pays off and the next machine is a keeper, mattocs. And do NOT shed tears on your dented machine. You'll probably be charged a fee for causing the chassis to rust during its return trip to the factory.

wow just wow. They should of never let that leave the factory. I am guessing it was just over looked. Maybe someone got lazy.

Anyway as Much as I dislike Macs in general I have to admit the hardware is almost always excellent quality. and they are most definately some of the best built PC's coming out of the US market. The worst in my expierence seem to be HP/compaq for large brands.

Dell is more mid grade. Their saving grace used to be their customer service but from what I have seen that is going down the tubes.
