    Do the new Dells have a lot of dead pixels?

    No, the dead pixel issue has really gone down in recent years. There are more issues like the infamous "sparkle" defect and the light leakage. The former is one that I observed with little effort on two kiosk models. But your mileage really varies, and you'll probably have more luck when you actually order the darn thing.

    Yeah, my dell hasnt had any dead or stuck pixels ever. There is evedince of light leakage, i have it on the bottom of mine when the screen is black, it really doesnt effect me in anyway still.

    I have had three Dell laptops over the year and currently have a 9300 and 700m. I have never seen a dead pixel on any of them. I think Dead pixels are things you find of cheap rubbish, and these days should not be a problem.

    yea...on my dell 9300..i don't see any sparkle effect or dead or stuck pixels :D :D :eek:

    got an i6000 with 1 dead pixel. a couple days later a pixel was stuck green, but came unstuck later that day. dell sent me a replacement notebook. replacement notebook was perfect; no dead or stuck pixels.

    lcd is 15.4" wuxga

    Wow, WUXGA on a 15.4" screen. You've got better eyes than me. I had to bump my T42's DPI to 100 to make everything right.
