Allo im thinking of buying an Xps 1710, im not in a big rush i have waited for Core2 duo. and i would like to hold out for DX10 & vista but thats who knows how fair away atm. So just wonder if its hard to upgrade the graphics board in the 1710 ? and will it be possible? this would allow me the peace of mind to buy in now and upgrade later.

It'll be possible if and only if Dell chooses to keep the same internal design as the current XPS system. Also, upgrading can be quite tricky if you don't know what you're doing and it'll also void out your warranty with Dell.

If you don't need the notebook now, then don't buy now.
