Hi guys, I've already had my share of questions on the m1330, but now I have a question about the time to buy.

Right now its finals week at my college and its no use buying now unless I find any great deals. I'm planning on buying it in January when school starts again, but I heard that new processors are coming out around that time as well. I was wondering if there should be anything else I would be anticipating. I know the new geforce 9 series is releasing soon but I doubt they will go mobile at launch.

Do you guys know if Dell will apply the new processors right away/ if it is even possible w/ motherboard issues etc? How is their history on upgraded processors?

Also, do you guys suspect any sales or new graphics cards being released for the m1330?

I'm not expecting facts, just some feedback.

    Thanks a bunch guys

Sales: yes. I've heard there a couple ways to bring down the price on DELL notebooks: Coupon codes paired with special deals that come every so often. I don't really understand your question about the new graphics card since you just said you doubt the new GFX card will go mobile, which I agree. I do think they'll refresh it with the 9 series eventually, however.

They'll probably have a lag before introducing the new processors to this... They probably have a lot of inventory to go through ... best price to buy is probably around january but with Dell its really hard to tell.. there are good deals now though... you could buy now and if the price declines as for a price match (if price drops more than $50 they do match).. its a pain though...

Seeing as how the 8600 runs warm at idle on my 1530, it is highly unlikely that you will see it in the 1330 (it would already have been an option if it was possible).

I agree with sleey0 on the 8600 in the m1330. It's unlikely that they will put it in that chasis due to the heat. That's a drawback for having such a slim profile and having to compact all the components.
Also, we probably won't see the new processors in their products until at least a couple months after they are released.

this morning they had 300 off just like that for configuring it above 1400 I believe, but it expires monday, also there's a coupon for 100 off in the bargains thread so that's a ottal of $400 off without any discount that you get them to apply on the phone, got mine for 1500 today, maxed out.

I guess I'll just wait for a really good deal for the m1330 then. but the latest I'll wait for is january, when I start school again.

Check out the current sale. Until Dec. 17(?) they're knocking $300 off orders of $1500. To add to that, the purchase would still qualify for the $200 promotional gift card.

Also, you can choose the biometric fingerprint reader at no extra cost.

Yeah, but from what I've seen and used of those things... 'free' is about all they're worth.
