    Plastic tray on Dell laptop

    On the right side of my laptop (E1505), there is a push button that slightly sticks out. If I press this button, the black plastic tray right next to it pops out. I can remove the tray by taking it out, or put it back in by pushing it back into the slot.

    My question is, what does this black plastic tray do?

    It is the blank that keeps the dust out of your express card slot when you do not have an express card in the slot.

    I believe that is part of the Express Slot. From what I can see of the layout.

    So it's just a cover? I thought I broke something when I accidently removed it from the slot so easily the other day.
