Has anyone replaced the plastic white strip on the front of the lid? Mine doesn't fit all that well around the latch of my E1705.
(Build quality seems noticeably better on my Inspiron 8600)

It's hard to see but the white plastic part around the latch on one side is not flush with the cover. It's not a major issue. My camera cell phone won't take a clear enough picture. If I were to grade the quality on fit and finish overall on my E1705 it would have to be a C+. The lid is slightly warped on the right side when closed. I doubt I'd buy another Dell. I see hundreds of Lattitudes at work and they're so much better built and look so much better. I would have gotten one of them but the deciding factor was the video card selection. I wanted a high end video card. Maybe I should have paid an extra $700 for an identically configured XPS.
When you buy an XPS you are paying for the name, colored lights and little else but the build quality may be better.
