Does anybody know when Dell is going to get around to updating their inspiron line with Gigabit?

For me the 9400 is pretty much the perfect price/performance mark I am looking for, but I can't pull the trigger without gigabit.

I don't need the support of the XPS line, so I don't want to pay the premium. And dell is one of the only ones I know of with the UltraXGA (1900x1220) screens aside from Alienware.

Indeed it does, albeit in a 15 inch package...a much better built lappy, however it does cost a pretty penny more with a weaker gpu and as of yet, no c2d.

    10/100/1000 ethernet.

It is support for faster networks basically. Most manufactures have stepped up, Dell only offers it in there XPS lines.

I have been eyeing the Alienware boxes, Dell still gets my money and I get 17 inch, full keyboard, UXGA, support for 2 harddrives, and yes gigabit ethernet for about $2300 bucks in a Area 51 m5750.

Not as cheap as the 9400, but probably worth the difference.
