My laptop (Dell Inspiron 600m) runs completely fine and then all of a sudden the screen goes black but the laptops still running. Then I tap the sensor that makes the screen turn black when you close your laptop and the screen comes back with no problems! But then in about a minute it will go black again and I have to repeat the procedure countless times. What's interesting is that when I connect my laptop to my HDTV, I get a clear picture on my HDTV with no problems but the laptop screen is still black.

I've been freaking out these past couple of days because of this problem I'm having with my laptop. I take my laptop with me to class every single day so it's VERY important that I get this resolved. I'd appreciate all your help!

I don't know what the issue is but if it's that important for you to resolve this problem I would suggest Calling Dell.

It's probably a hardware issue that you cannot fix. I suggest calling dell.

Yeah, the only problem is that my warranty's been over for a long time so I don't think calling Dell would help.

Still, It probably won't cost that much, you can call and ask. Or you can open it up and check into it. It can be a loose connector or something.

Thats why I buy with an amex, you get another year of warranty! lol
