So the game is playing but top or bottom of the screen is cropped? Set the resolution in the game to the native resolution of your laptop screen.

    Is it all games?

I had this problem with some older games that weren't designed for widescreen computers and/or resolutions as high as mine. Heck, even [Prototype] wouldn't play properly without some hex editing of one of the game files.

First we need to know what resolution are you trying to run the games at (many games automatically set themselves to an "optimal" resolution for good performance)

Secondly, we need to find out if your Catalyst Control Center is scaling lower resolutions or not.

A simple test for scaling is to go into your game's graphical settings and click the resolution button until it matches the one listed in your laptop's specifications, then click accept/OK in the game. Most games will not typically let you select anything higher, so you usually just click till it stops changing. If the game fills the whole screen after doing this, then your Catalyst Control Center settings need changed, which we can also help with.

Change the game resolution and report back.

And finally, just because you have a dozen formatting controls at your disposal, doesn't mean you have to use all of them in every post. ;)

Edit: Find some information about Resident Evil 4 at this link: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10237

Its because of windows 7, just change the resolution to your native screen. Not hard

No, not really. Windows 7 doesn't impact the way the driver displays aspect ratios.

    It's because of driver settings.

I think it has something to do with Catalyst's scaling. For my Studio 1537 with the HD3450, it refuses to scale things to full screen even if I specify in "Scaling Options" of Catalyst Control Center to "Full Screen."
