I initially got a Studio 17 with 1440*900 screen(the normal) one and now i want to upgrade it to a WLED screen. My Studio laptop came with a lot of faults like malfunctioning media buttons, keyboard problems etc...now a replacement system is under development. Will i be able to order the WLED screen now? My request for a change in color from Graphite Grey to Jet Black has been approved. So will they process this request of mine?.I will have to inform DELL within 24 hrs!

Yeah thats about all you can do is just get ahold of a nice customer service person and explain everything to them and if they are nice they will do it but good luck with finding a nice one
hope you get what you want -
I'm actually surprised that they allowed you to change the color.
I highly doubt they'd allow you to change the screen. -
Just to add to your post regarding the issues you are having with your first Studio. I received my 1735 on August 21 and i'm having similiar problems to others that have posted. My media buttons are not working properly, the sound crackling, and the light leak at the bottom of the display are my main issues. I have spoken with Dell support twice and still have the same problems, so i'm getting a replacement unit.
My concern is i'm wondering if the replacement will be any better? It looks as though many people that have received their units recently are having similiar nagging problems. Is this normal for Dell, or is this just bad luck?
Thanks,

I think its just bad luck that we have got a faulty system...
22 July: Studio 17 arrived(T8300,3gb,Ati,1440*900,Backlit,Fingerprint)
27 July: The entire panel containing media buttons failed. They would not even light up when i would touch them...and obviously the were not working at all.
29 July: Service Engineer dropped in....i think he was a newbie...he looked very nervous. He installed the replacement media button dashboard but they still would not work. He said it was a failed IC chip behind the dashboard
1 Aug : Another Service Engineer dropped in.....this time with another dashboard and a new motherboard. He installed both of them and the problem partly went away with the first few buttons working...the eject button was not. Maybe that was a motherboard issue so the problem was partly corrected. This service engineer ended up breaking a key of the keyboard....and he was struggling to fix the entire keyboard properly....the keyboard surface became uneven I was absolutely furious...and asked him to stop all the repair work..then i rang up Dell next morning and demanded a replacement laptop......i had a lot of trouble just to convince DELL how bad my system was.....I even sent them pictures of my system(broken key etc)which may arrive in a week's time from now. I hope i get the system with the "Revised Motherboard" as the current one has a lot of issues.
